Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga is a Jyotrlinga of Lord Shiva on an ‘OM’ shaped sacred island on the Narmada River between Indore and Kandwa. The island consists of two high hills and is divided by a valley to form the sacred symbol ‘OM’. One of the 12 revered jyotirlingas in the subcontinent, it is surrounded by Vindhyas in the north and Satpura in the south. Tucked away on the banks of the Narmada River, in western Madhya Pradesh, Omkareshwar is 77 km from Indore.
