A 90-year-old man was admitted to a renowned hospital in Delhi with complaints of difficulty in breathing and eating. Whenever he ate, he vomited and experienced pain and heaviness in the chest. Due to the fear of the pain and vomiting, the patient stopped eating and lost weight.

At the hospital, a laparoscopic surgeon performed an endoscopy investigation and found a large hiatus hernia in the patient. The surgeon observed that the patient’s stomach was pushed upward into the chest through an opening in the diaphragm and compressed the lungs.
